Even before the official launch of Kentucky online sports betting on Thursday, Sept. 28, its sports betting catalogue is being expanded.
The Kentucky Sports Wagering Advisory Council today approved several new events for the state’s sports betting catalogue. The advisory council approved the initial catalogue prior to its retail sports betting launch on Thursday, Sept. 7, with intentions to expand it even further before next week’s online launch.
The council unanimously approved five new markets prior to next week’s online sports betting launch.

Kentucky Sports Betting Catalogue Expanded

ToggleHans Stokke, director of sports betting for the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, introduced five new sports betting markets to the commonwealth’s sports betting catalogue. They were as follows:
Formula 1 RacingNational Rugby League in AustraliaProfessional Fighter’s League MMABellator MMAUniversal Tennis League
The advisory council unanimously approved the events be added to the full catalogue.
The advisory council approved the initial sports betting catalogue earlier this month, which includes markets such as the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, WNBA, and NCAA baseball, softball, basketball, football and hockey. The only mixed martial art events allowed in the catalogue will be UFC sanctioned fights.
It allows single game bets, teaser bets, parlays, over-under bets, moneyline bets, pools, in-game wagering, in-play bets, prop bets, and straight bets.
Betting on awards shows and unsanctioned events will not be permitted.
The State’s Extensive Sports Betting Catalogue
The Kentucky sports betting catalogue currently allows bets on eSports, Japan Nippon Professional Baseball, FIBA sanctioned basketball events, and cycling events sanctioned by the Union Cycliste International.

Online Sports Betting Launches Next Week
Kentucky online sports betting is also set to debut on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 6 a.m.
The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission have approved the first eight initial online sports betting operators for Kentucky sports betting. The following operators received approval of their temporary sports betting service provider licenses. If the operators meet certain conditions, the temporary licenses will be eligible to become permanent licenses.

DraftKings announced it will allow those who are 18 and older to use its online sports betting app. Bet365 will also allow those who are 18 or older to use its app.
